Welcome to Chris' 30th Birthday Blog
Hello everyone!
I'm using this blog to give everyone all the information they will need so that they can come to my birthday party on the 14th November 2009.
I'll put information about travel, times etc. so that you can relaxs and have a great day.
I know there is a choir rehearsal that day too, so I'll be putting details of how to get to from the rehearsal venue to the pub for LGMC people who want to come along after the rehearsal. xx

4th Annual Walking in a Winter Wonderland
So as usual, we'll start proceedings with a boat trip and a walk along the Thames Pathway, stopping off at the usual pubs.
We will meet at London Bridge City Pier at 1445, and we will be catching the 1508 boat to Canary Wharf. The journey costs £5, and you get a slight discount if you show a valid travel card for that day.
Here is a map of where you will find London Bridge City Pier.
From Canary Wharf we will walk to the first pub: THE GRAPES. This map also shows you where the pub is in relation to Canary Wharf Pier, and Canary Wharf tube station in case you are catching us up.
44 Narrow Street London, E14 8DP
After enjoying the peroni on tap, we'll make our way to our final resting place.
57 Wapping Wall, London, E1W 3SH
I've hired the upstairs room, and there will be a slight break in proceedings whilst we set the equipment up. It is at this time I suggest we get stuck into some bar food and we'll put some chilled out music on before we start up again with Karaoke and Dancing. If you have any DJ requests, please leave a comment on this blog.
I imagine we'll arrive here about 6ish, so anyone not wanting to do the walk can join us from here onwards!

You can download the Karaoke song list here.
The bar is serving until midnight and we'll be kicked out shortly after that.
GETTING HOME
There are 2 buses that serve Wapping Wall.
The 100 and the D3.
The links to the timetables are currently not working due to a problem with the TFL website but the last busses are around half midnight. To see them, go to the http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ - getting around - then click on bus timetables. You will then find the D3 and 100, listed there, and the stop we're at is Wapping Wall.
Click here for the timetable inc. last buses for the 100 which serves Liverpool Street and Elephant and Castle via Tower Hill.
There are of course taxis and the pub will give you a number.
Are you coming from the LGMC Choir Rehearsal?
No worries! If you are coming directly from the rehearsal, I suggest the following route.
Walk to 7 sisters and get the overground train to Bethnal Green Railway station. Trains come every 15 mins and the journey takes 14 minutes.
Exit Bethnal Green Overground station and immediately turn left and walk along the road keeping the park on the right. You will come to Vallance Road which is where you can pick the D3 up to Wapping. They come every 15 minutes and the journey takes 18 minutes.
If there are lots of people coming straight from rehearsal I will try and get a volunteer to coordinate the exodus. People might also think about getting a quote for a minibus!!
So hopefully there enough information for everyone. If you have questions just give me a call. Please forward the blog on to people who you think would like to come, and I really hope to see you there! xx
